PMO News Portal - Hossein Moddares Khiabani started that due to the considerable infrastructure available in Chabahar port, its development is one of the necessary measures for the country, especially in terms of commercial operations, unloading and loading of staples and other necessary goods of the country.
The Deputy Minister of Industry, Mining and Commerce added: The two state-owned stewards of “Iranian Trading Company’ and “livestock support’ have been ordered to supply, load and unload their staple cargoes and ships through Chabahar port.
Accordingly, in order to make the cargo transport from Chabahar port economical, the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Commerce coordinated with the Mines and Minerals Development Organization to transport some mineral cargos to Chabahar port to be shipped to the export destination through Chabahar.
At the same time, the necessary materials for many of the domestic auto parts companies, with related manufacturing units in South Khorasan Province, will be shipped from Chabahar port.
According to the Deputy Minister of Industry, Mining and Commerce, given the Chabahar port's access to the Indian Ocean, open waters and the capacities created there, the Chabahar Development committee has been formed and will soon be responsible for coordinating government agencies' efforts to develop the port. This is because the location of Chabahar Port is very important in terms of expanding Iranian trade and can have a positive impact on the growth of Iranian business activities.
He emphesized: the government's view is to balance the distribution of basic commodities between southern ports. We need to be looking for freight traffic in this strategic port. Chabahar Port has the potential to handle a large portion of commercial transactions in ports of the country, especially as ports are now a major part of the country's commercial infrastructure and need to be regularly developed to meet its provision.
