& Maritime office at Lengeh Port, presented a report on the seven-month
operation of the ports of western Hormozgan in this year which shows that during
this period, 5 million and 211,924 tons of oil and non-oil products were unloaded
and loaded at the ports of western Hormozgan, and of the total of one million
145 thousand and 704 tons of non-oil products in the ports of this region,
Lengeh port operation has grown by 9 percent.
Askarinasab, referring to the export of 595,711 tons of
non-oil commodities in the ports of western Hormozgan, added that this figure
has increased by 21 percent in comparison with last year.
59% decrease in imports due to increased domestic production
During the first seven months of the current year, more than
43,000 tons of non-oil goods were imported into the ports of western Hormozgan,
a decrease of 59 percent compared with last year due to an increase in domestic
During the mentioned period, the volume of transit of
non-oil goods (mostly automobiles) in the ports of western Hormozgan reached
162 thousand and 269 tons, which represents a 65-percent growth in comparison
with last year.
28% growth in container operations
Mr. Askarinasab also announced a 28 percent increase in the
operation of container handling in the ports of western Hormozgan, stating that
during this time, 2735 TEU were processed at the ports.
The number of vessels entering the ports of West Hormozgan
was 7033. Of this, 442 vessels had the capacity of more than 1,000 tons and 6591
of these vessels had the capacity of less than 1,000 tons.
