A business delegation from the Russian Federation visited the port's capabilities and capacities to invest in the special economic zone of Amir Abad Port.

PMO News Portal - Director in a meeting with Russian investors and traders, Amirabad Special Economic Zone's Ports and maritime director explained the capabilities and capabilities of Amir Abad Port.

Siavash Rezvani stated that the special economic zone of Amir Abad port with 1060 hectares of hinterland and having five tourism, service, industrial and operational regions is the largest port on the border of the Caspian Sea.

With numerous factories producing various types of goods such as paper mills, plasterboard, MDF etc. , Amir Abad port is considered  a third-generation port and activities in the wood and paper industries, conversion industries, edible oils and transit are available investment opportunities in Amir Abad port.

The Amirabad port manager also pointed to a 19% increase in cargo loading and unloading in 2018 with 3,800 tons compared to 2017, Amir Abad port with a share of more than 60 percent in loading and unloading of goods is ranked the first port in northern Iranian ports.

The head of the Russian business delegation stated that considering the advanced infrastructure, Amir Abad port is the best and most important transit route for barley, wheat and maize to Iraq.
