PMO News Portal – Regarding the maximum utilization of Chabahar
port capacities for export to the Persian Gulf states and India, Behrooz Aghaei
stated that India is in the priority list of Chabahar development plan since it
has much more demand than the Gulf States.
He recalled developing plans to export goods to the Persian
Gulf States, including Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates and stated: A
significant step has been taken to export goods from Afghanistan to India.
Recalling that Afghanistan exports more than 240,000 tons of
pomegranates annually, Aghaei emphasized that regarding other commodities, we
have also persuaded India to export its goods to Iran. Moreover, a law has been
passed in India which provides for a 40% discount on two Indian ports for goods
coming from those ports to Chabahar o the other way around.
