PMO News Portal – During the technical meeting on strategic issues of Chabahar Port development , mohammad Rastad stated that on the Earst-West trade route which is considered one of the most important routes of world trade, Chabahar Port has the least distance and the least deviation from the route, which is a strategic advantage for the Chabahar Port.

Referring to the Chabahar transit corridor agreement between the three countries of India, Afghanistan and Iran; Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development added: Among the advantages of Chabahar Port is the vast market range of this port which includes Indian Ocean coastal countries, East African countries on the one hand, and Afghanistan and Central Asia on the other. The Chabahar Port has been the first port that was able to attract international operator to under a BOT contract. The international operator in Chabahar Port is committed to investing in superstructures and purchasing equipment.

Rastad also emphasized: With the creation of infrastructures in Phase I and part of Phase II of the Chabahar Port Development Plan, Chabahar has transformed from a seasonal port, due to lack of appropriate basin during mansoon season, to a fully functional port capable of providing port services throughout the year.
