PMO News Portal - Regarding the unloading and loading
operations in Chabahar Port, Hossein Shahdadi stated that since the beginning
of October this year, six ships carrying basic commodities and staples including
barley and maize, raw sugar and rice with a total capacity of 340,000 tons have
harbored at Chabahar Port and up to 210,000 tons has been unloaded so far.
He also pointed to the loading and discharge of 70% of
unloaded cargo from the port within the past month and stated that the average
daily flow of cargo from Chabahar port is 2500 tons. The main priority of the
General Directorate is preventing the Deposition of Goods, moreover the optimal
use of port capacities and acceleration of the flow of imported goods is
intended at Chabahar port.
According to the deputy director of port and economic affair
of Sistan-Baluchistan, the factors influencing the deposition of goods in the ports
of country are the unexpected changes in laws, the diversity of issued
directives, and different interpretations of the directives.
Referring to Article 5 of the Customs Code of the Islamic
Republic of Iran, and Articles 2 and 3 of the Implementing Regulations of the
said law, Shahdadi stated that all goods discharge under customs procedure and
in cases of the expiry of the permitted deposition period date, the matter will
be reported to the Customs on a weekly basis.
