Director General of Khuzestan Ports and Maritime: The construction of the 1,000-ton wharf at Arvandkenar port, with a length of 120 meters, has had more than 40% physical progress.

PMO News Portal - Adel Deris stated that the dredging of the Arvand River, especially around  its estuary, is one of the main challenges facing the ports of Abadan, Cooabdeh and Arvandkenar, and while emphasizing the need to dredge this waterway, he called for cooperation and participation of the Iraqi side in accordance with international treaties.

He described the Arvand area ports as centers for local employment and business, and if its dredging problem got resolved, commercial capacities in these ports would be more flourishing than before.

Referring to the 40% progress of the construction of the 1,000-ton wharf of Arvandkenar port, which is 120 meters long, he assessed the process of infrastructure development in Abadan and Chooabdeh ports in terms of construction of 2,000 square meter warehouses as favorable and said: significant infrastructures have been considered in the ports along the Arvand, and in order to take optimal advantage, business ties procedures must be strengthened.
