PMO News Portal - Noting that in recent years, PMO has taken extensive measures in the development and capacity building of ports to meet the needs of freight transport, including import, export and transit, Ravanbakhsh Behzadian stated that currently, infrastructure and facilities are available for uninterrupted unloading and loading operations through the northern and southern ports of the country.

he added: The total capacity of the country's ports is currently more than 240 million tons, which will increase with the completion of development projects in most ports.

The Director General of Port Affairs of the Ports and Maritime Organization stated that the total length of wharves constructed in the country's ports is more than 39 km, and the total area of indoor warehouses in ports is 125 hectares which has the necessary facilities to store goods of port customers. The Ports and Maritime Organization is also planning to carry out several programs for the upcoming years.
